For returning umpires or if
you are interested in becoming an umpire, the first rules interpretation
meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 6, at 7 PM. The meetings are held downstairs at the
Moose Club in Binghamton. The Moose
Club is located on Henry Street not far from NYSEG Stadium. Meetings are held every Monday in
February and March.

If you are umpiring any ASA tournaments you should periodically check for rules clarifications. They post these about every other
month. Go to www.softball.org
and click on the “Umpires” tab and scroll down to “Rule Clarifications
and Plays”. There is a lot of good
stuff there.

American
Legion umpires: The only composite bats
that are allowed are those with BBCOR certification. Also, make sure all base coaches (including adults) are wearing a
helmet. For a copy of the American
Legion rules go to http://www.legion.org/documents/baseball/baseball_rules.pdf.

bragging) we get great reviews! Check out a few of the letters we
have gotten during the 2010 season from satisfied tournament directors
